In order to manage your beacons in the Estimote Cloud dashboard, you first need them assigned to your Estimote Account. Alternatively, you can use the Development access mode to share the beacons with your colleagues.
If you don't have any beacons assigned to your Cloud account, you’ll see the following message after logging in to Estimote Cloud:
Why am I seeing this?
Every Estimote Beacon or Sticker is assigned to the email address used when placing an order, moments before we ship them to you. If we cannot find this email address in our database, beacons won't be assigned and you won't see them in your Cloud right away. If you bought beacons from a reseller, they are responsible for transferring the beacons to your account.
There are 4 possible scenarios and we explain in details how to handle them.
Different email account used
If you bought the beacons through our website with one email address but used another one to create a Cloud account, we have no way of assigning them to the right account automatically. Here's how to fix this.
Someone bought the beacons for you
If someone at your company bought the beacons for you, you'll need to sort out the ownership with them. Check out how to do it here.
Beacons bought from the external vendor
You'll find Estimote beacons at hundreds of online and brick and mortar stores around the world. If you chose to buy from either of these places, the sellers are solely responsible for transferring the ownership of beacons to your account. Here's how to proceed if they haven't transferred the beacons.
Beacons arrived with an activation code
In some cases, like with our expedited shipping program and with Amazon orders of new beacons, we provide beacons with activation codes. You should be able to find an activation code inside of your devkit box. Once you activate it here, the beacons will be immediately assigned to your account.
Please note that activation codes are not added to most devkits. If you don't have one and none of the steps above helped, please contact us at contact@estimote.com and include the following information:
- the email address of your Cloud account
- the identifier of at least one of your beacons. Please log in to the Estimote app, connect to one of the beacons and send us its identifier. It will look something like this: d426d955cee4a20943712546cea47839 or a93d7f9301ef for older beacons. If you found something that you think might be the identifier but doesn't look anything like these - it's probably not what you're looking for.
- the reason why you can't transfer the beacons' ownership
